This is one great looking rare specimen of assorted shells and crenoid stems held together within sandstone. The are 2 Bivalves, 1 Gastropod and a number of Crenoid stems. These were part of the great Inland sea here in Australia millions of years ago and over the time has been replaced by opal. A crenoid is an underwater sea Lilly. It is rare to find them grouped like this as most times they are broken up in the mining process. There is some small amount of colour to the shells but it is very much a specimen.
